Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.
Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. has launched the new active V-groove fusion splicer, T-400S, that is suitable for FTTx network installation in September 2016.
Sumitomo Electric The T-400S innovation team kept the needs of unskilled users and field working conditions in mind throughout the design process. One of the key features of the T-400S is the Super-Wide concept, which provides an extended adjustment range of fiber position in the X and Y axes compared to conventional splicers. Super-Wide makes the T-400S tolerant to imperfectly cleaned fibers and less sensitive to fibers misplaced by unskilled operators.
Super-Wide X/Y adjustment helps to save time and effort spent on site and reduces the possibility of redoing the splicing work after a splice box has been closed.
T-400S with Super-Wide helps even unexperienced operators conduct splicing work quickly and accurately, pushing down the cost of FTTx installation.
For further FTTX flexibility, the T-400S's universal Multi-Clamp and removable fiber holders allow splicing of a wide variety of fiber coating media. The T-400S handles FTTH drop cables, ruggedised cords, loose buffer and tight buffer secondary coated fibers, primary coated fibers, and Splice-On field assembly connectors.
The intuitive and simple user interface has been designed for improved user friendliness.
Sumitomo Electric has built on more than 30 years' experience of designing and producing world leading fusion splicers and FTTH cabling solutions to introduce the T-400S in response to customers' needs in field splicing. We are confident that the T-400S will become your best partner and help you carry out your FTTH missions quickly and accurately.
The T-400S will be showcased for the first time at the ECOC 2016 exhibition held in Dusseldorf, Germany from September 19 to 21.
