A FY2012 JSAT Papers Award was granted by the Japan Society for Abrasive Technology (JSAT), a major academic society for cutting and grinding processing, to a research paper written by our employees titled “Electric Re-insulation Grinding of Soft Magnetic Powder Cores.”
A Paper Award-winner is selected from all the academic papers carried in JSAT journals in the past one year, in recognition of its originality, novelty, and excellence as an academic paper from both the engineering and industrial perspectives. This is the first time that the award has been granted to an academic paper by members of the Sumitomo Electric Group.
Since we began mass production of dust core products at Sumitomo Electric Sintered Alloy, Ltd. in 2004, we have been developing the research and development of new materials and new technologies in order to further expand our business scope. This technology is an innovative processing method to solve the problem of the deterioration of magnetic characteristics generated in the finishing process of dust cores. The technology will significantly contribute to the use of dust cores for various purposes.
