SEI Business Creates, Inc. ("SBC") was established in 1956 as Sumiden Engineering Support, Ltd. (abbreviated "Sumigi"), to provide a wide range of products and services to Sumitomo Electric Group companies and the employees in their factories and offices. The company was renamed in 2003. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all Sumitomo personnel for their patronage for over half a century.

A wide range of services

We provide a wide range of services to our corporate and individual customers at various Sumitomo Electric facilities. We enjoy the trust of our corporate customers who outsource to us a range of duties, including mailing and other clerical tasks, planting and other environment-improving projects on factory premises, PR activities (website production as well as printing of brochures and company stationery including slips, envelops and business cards), business trip arrangements and related duties, facility administration and management (Ikoma and Minami Hakome Seminar Houses and Utsubo Dormitory), employee welfare service (shops), and leasing. Our services for individual customers include domestic and overseas travel agency, sales (Dunlop golf goods, books, regional specialties etc. sold at reduced prices), insurance agency, and house and garden maintenance and improvement.

Last year was one of drastic changes, such as the marked increase in sales of soft drinks due to the scorching heat during the summer and an almost instantaneous last-minute surge in demand for cigarettes immediately before the price increase. Under such circumstances, true to the shop name "Creo," the Latin word for creation, we all remained creative in coming up with ideas for further sales promotion and service improvement. We have been quite successful with the sale of 100-yen sports drinks and drinks bearing lottery numbers sold from automatic vending machines. At Itami Works, we have community-wide events, such as the Inari Festival in spring and the Green-Floral Festival in autumn, on which occasions we sell drinks and sweets. Our black beans in particular, a Tanba-Sasayama region specialty sold at the Green-Floral Festival, has been growing in popularity, selling more than the previous year. Last year, our shop welcomed new members, and the workplace has become even more vibrant. We are good friends even after working hours, some of us going on holiday trips together. We have a cheerful and harmonious workplace, and are all very active both at work and play.
