Poreflon™

Poreflon™ is a porous material manufactured by Sumitomo Electric. This 100% PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene resin) has numerous micropores, and is characterized by superb chemical resistance, high strength, high water permeability, high heat resistance, etc. Poreflon™ membrane filters are used in various industries including semiconductors, liquid crystals, medicine, and food.

Poreflon™ Membrane is made from PTFE, characterized by superb heat resistance and chemical resistance.
The pore diameter of this high collection efficiency, high flow rate filter membrane is controlled by Sumitomo Electric’s proprietary special processing technologies.

The PTFE water-repellent surface can be made hydrophilic by using Sumitomo Electric’s proprietary processing technologies, for applications to filter aqueous solutions. In fact, Poreflon™ Membrane filters are widely used in the semiconductor, liquid crystal, medicine, food, and other industries.
Also, Poreflon™ Membrane is widely utilized as waterproof membrane materials and electric wire-covering materials for automobiles and electronic parts including electric home appliances, taking advantage of its water-repellent, weather-resistant, low dielectric characteristics.

Poreflon™ Air Vent

Poreflon™ Air Vent is characterized by the waterproof, air-ventilating properties derived from the PTFE porous membrane. Specifically, this product prevents the penetration of dust particles and water droplets, etc. (i.e. external factors that affect the functions of precision devices) while ensuring air ventilation. Installing a Poreflon™ Air Vent on the outside air intake port (internal pressure adjustment port) of precision parts helps efficiently remove dust particles in incoming air and release the pressure and heat inside the machines to the outside.
