Completion of Chassis Dynamometer Test Laboratory with an Anechoic Chamber

Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. (SWS) has recently constructed a test laboratory for chassis dynamometer with an anechoic chamber at its Suzuka Plant in Mie, first among the wiring harness manufacturers in Japan.

Today an increasing number of electric and hybrid electric vehicles are expanding the sources of electromagnetic noise, while expansion of the information network connecting within and outside of vehicles also increases the amount of communication and electronic equipment susceptible to such noise. The Sumitomo Electric Group has recently built a test laboratory for chassis dynamometer with an anechoic chamber that is able to precisely measure the impacts of noise sources on communication and electronic equipment by simulating a running vehicle.

The facility enables the company to evaluate the impact on the entire vehicle in a travelling condition from an early stage of product development. SWS will continue its efforts in development of power supply, signal networks, and their related components to expedite product development and globally propose the products that meet customers’ requirements and expectations.
