Hello! I’m Handoko. As production general manager, I’m engaged in management and control of safety, quality, shipping, and manufacturing costs. My focus is on improving production efficiency. Despite many difficulties, I have solved each problem in cooperation with coworkers. Actually the work environment is improving year by year, and all the staff members are highly motivated. However it is expected that competition with our rivals will become even more severe, I’m confident that we are sure to beat the competition.

As production general manager, I would like to continue considering and implementing approaches to further enhance the staff’s motivation.

My name is Tripranaputra. I joined SIWS in October 2005. For about nine years, I have been mainly engaged in management of production, material, and distribution.

I’m sure that Indonesia will experience further development and expansion of its automotive industry. As a member of the global Sumitomo Electric Group, I would like to work hard to obtain even more trust from customers and increase our market share.

Traffic Jams in Jakarta

Traffic jams in Jakarta are very heavy. According to a survey, the daily average amount of traffic on the expressway from the city to the nearby airport is almost five times that of the Tomei Expressway in Japan during the so-called Golden Week holiday season. Actually, in Jakarta, a typical conversation with a customer starts with “Was the traffic heavy?” Although construction for a subway is now underway, its completion is not planned for another four or five years, indicating that the traffic jams will go on for many more years to come.

Respect for Harmony with Coworkers

I feel that staff members have a strong sense of camaraderie. Also in Japan, people take time to build relationships of trust, and try to form consensus before taking action. However, I feel that such an attitude is more respected in Jakarta than in Japan. There are many things that I can learn in this city.

LCCs are now popular in Japan. As well in Indonesia, there are many LCCs, enabling you to go from Jakarta to various sightseeing spots such as Bali, Yogyakarta, and Singapore at very reasonable prices. Actually, during consecutive holidays, I sometimes go sightseeing by LCC with my family.
