In April 2017, Sumitomo Electric celebrated the 120th anniversary of its founding. Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders who have supported the Company's development. To commemorate the anniversary and create new momentum toward further development, we are unrolling a series of projects.

As we already announced, we are offering commemorative dividends and introduced a 120th anniversary logo created for use on business cards and in catalogs to announce our future vision to people both inside and outside the Company.
Further, to improve our working environments, we are relocating the Toyota Works, rebuilding the cafeteria at the Osaka Works, and improving equipment and facilities at the Itami Works and Yokohama Works.

1. Completion of new building at Toyota Works

In April 2017, we held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new Toyota Works in Aichi Prefecture. The facilities bring together functions of the automotive sales divisions, aiming to provide more enhanced services to customers. (Operations began on June 12.)

Location: 2-80 Akebono-cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture; in front of Meitetsu (Nagoya Railroad) Tsuchihashi Station

2. Improvement of the Osaka Works cafeteria and other facilities

We will rebuild and renovate aging facilities at the Osaka Works, including its cafeteria, and develop the east entrance zone to create a landscape that harmonizes with the surrounding environment.

The development will demonstrate Sumitomo Electric's various proprietary technologies, such as its adoption of Poreflon™-used membrane bio reactors for wastewater treatment from kitchens.

(The east cafeteria will start operation in spring 2018 and development of the east entrance zone will complete in September 2018.)

3. Uniform (workwear) renewal

The current uniform was updated on the 90th anniversary of the Company's founding, with no major review since then. We will comprehensively renew the uniform, including its design and materials, to improve employees' safety and workability. The design will reflect our visual identity (VI)*. The new uniform will be available from March 2018 after consultation with the labor union.
