Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. has shipped its "POREFLON" microfiltration system to OHKAWA Co., Ltd., a manufacturer/distributor of everyday Japanese food products such as konnyaku and sesame tofu.
Made from PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), the porous material POREFLON is exceptionally heat- and chemical-resistant, and features high strength and high porosity. POREFLON microfiltration membrane modules are used for wastewater purification and recycling at factories and water/wastewater treatment plants at home and abroad.
OHKAWA Co., Ltd. was using sand-filtered river water from the foot of the Yoshino mountains, Nara Prefecture. Recognizing the high treatment capacity of POREFLON microfiltration membrane modules, OHKAWA was the first food manufacturer to choose to utilize these modules.
Sumitomo Electric expects that clean water produced via the POREFLON microfiltration system will greatly improve food quality. We will continue to positively respond to customer needs in various industries and promote the sale of this high-purity water producing POREFLON microfiltration system.
