Taiwan Sumiden Steel Wire Co. Ltd. (TSSW), which was established in December last year, held the opening ceremony in July this year. Many people participated in the ceremony, including national and local government officials as well as customers.
TSSW was established as our Taiwan-based subsidiary for manufacturing and selling saw wires, which are used for slicing silicon ingots used for solar cells. This new company is the first saw wire producer with a manufacturing plant in Taiwan. TSSW produces final products of saw wires using steel wire feed stock imported from Japan. In February this year, TSSW gradually began installing its facilities, and commenced shipping in April. In May, all of the facility installation was completed.
TSSW works to expand sales to local customers as the only Taiwan-based manufacturer of saw wires, and to hold the largest share in the Taiwanese market.
