June 1, 2017,09:00 +0900(JST) Attended the International Wrought Copper Council (IWCC) Joint Meeting

From May 13 to 17, the IWCC Joint Meeting was held on a large scale in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, drawing approximately 150 participants (from the industries of mining, refining, and fabricating, etc.) from around the world.

Since the meeting took place in Malaysia, one of the major member countries of the ASEAN, I had been interested in directly observing the growth in the country's national power, making me look forward even more to attending the event. I learned a lot from their presentations, especially from the one on the prosperity of ASEAN. I was engaged in a wide range of activities for the IWCC in and after 1985, but at the Joint Meeting of this year, I handed over the baton to my successor Mr. Osamu Inoue, the next president of Sumitomo Electric. I have gained a great deal from my interactions with top management from around the world through my activities for the IWCC over more than 30 years. This experience will surely be of use in my future social activities.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all those who have supported me in my activities for the IWCC.
