Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiaries Toyokuni Electric Cable Co., Ltd. (TEC) and Sumiden High Precision Co., Ltd. (SHP) are merged into a new company SEI Optifrontier Co., Ltd. (SEOF). SEOF will start its operation on July 1.

FTTH (Fiber To The Home) related products and expertise that have been accumulated by TEC and SHP will be handed down to and integrated by SEOF to create excellent new technology and value. SEOF will also strengthen the cooperation with Sumitomo Electric’s Infocommunications & Systems Business Unit. Based on a solid business foundation, SEOF will offer high quality products and attractive services to the globally growing FTTH market.
