Sumitomo “PureAccess®” is the world best sold bend insensitive fiber (BIF).
We have shipped PureAccess® over 6 million km since we released as the first mass production BIF in 2003.
Sumitomo is the pioneer of BIF and made technical progress through the feedback from customers along with the development of FTTH application in Japan.
We have also released “PureAccess®-R5”, which has superior bend insensitivity and fully in compliance with ITU-T G.657.B3.
“PureAccess®” is fully in compliance with ITU-T G.657.A1 and G.652.D and supports access networks including last one-mile application such as FTTH due to its excellent bending performance while maintaining full compatibility with conventional SMF (G.652.D).
■ The World’s TOP Selling G.657 Fiber.
We have shipped Over 6 million kmf.

■ PureAccess® down size your cable

“PureAccess-R5” is in fully in compliance with ITU-T G.657.B3 and by its excellent bend insensitivity, PureAccess-R5 allows you to install this fiber like a conventional cupper cable wiring in home or MDU, such as a sharp bend, stapling, high load tension, etc... As well as bending insensitivity, BIF is required a physical strength because induced stress will be higher when bent in small radius.
Our 2% proof stress level proves the excellent features of this fiber.
Its geometrical design is considered for the splicing compatibility with SMF.
Sumitomo “PureBand®” made by the Vapor Phase Axial Deposition (VAD) method enables customers to construct high performance wired networks for voice, video, and/or data transmission.
The fiber, made of a germanium doped silica core and a silica cladding, is in compliance with ITU-T G.652.A,B,C and D. A dual layer acrylate is coated over the cladding to provide high product reliability and allows easy splicing throughout the cable life.
Its low water peak characteristics and excellent stability performance against hydrogen provide broad-range operational bandwidth while maintaining full compatibility with conventional SMF.
With higher proof testing, the fiber gives much tolerance in cabling and installation.
ITU-T G.652.C ⁄ D fiber is specified to extend the range of possible transmission signals, using 1310nm band power budgets, to portions of the band above 1360nm and below 1530nm.
The application for it is for triple-play for instance as well as PON ⁄ WDM system or the general purposes which could be expanded in the future. G.652D fibers guarantee low attenuation in S-band which can be used for down- stream of voice ⁄ data in the triple-play service and in L-band which can be used for monitoring of the line.
With foresight and planning to reduce CAPEX in total, Sumitomo's LWP SMF PureBand® may be the best choice for trunk, distribution cables as well as the drop⁄indoor applications.
For long haul and Metro-network transmission, Sumitomo's line of non-zero dispersion shifted single-mode fiber enables customers to construct high performance networks for voice, video, and/or data transmission.
Reduced dispersion slope and large effective area of Sumitomo NZ-DSF, “PureGuide®-LA” and “PureMetro™” which is in compliance with ITU-T G. 655 C and D, and “PureGuide®” which is in compliance with ITU-T G. 655 B, C and E is optimized for wide range bandwidth and high power optical signal.
Since the 1980s, Sumitomo Electric have supplied the submarine cable industry with optical fibers that have proven their excellent reliability through a total installed volume of pure silica core fiber (PSCF) in excess of 1 million kilometers.
"Z Fiber®", "Z-PLUS Fiber®" and "Z-PLUS Fiber®130" are PSCFs made by the VAD method and compliant with ITU-T G.654.
Z Fiber has a considerably lower attenuation characteristic than that of standard SMF, and our range is further enhanced by Z-PLUS Fiber and Z-PLUS Fiber 130 having larger effective core area, Aeff, than Z Fiber for higher input signal power.
The PSCFs have been supplied widely to repeater-less short reach systems and repeatered long reach systems including 100 Gb/s-base Digital Coherent systems.
"PureBand® Submarine" is compliant with G.652 and a low cost solution which is not a PSCF but assures the "submarine quality" associated with Sumitomo.
Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI) offers optical fiber ribbon "EZbranch™" which can be split in the midst of its span length after cable installation for breakout and branching.
It helps you greatly to increasing the utilization efficiency of the fiber.
The separation can be done in 30 to 40 seconds using SEI original tool without cutting any single fiber.
We have wide cable product range with "EZbranch™", ribbon, Drop⁄Indoor cable with PureAccess®.
EZbranch™ ribbon will give you new opportunities of wiring the optical fiber into the premises.
