SEWS South Africa (Pty) Ltd. (SEWS SA) was established in 2004 as a wiring harness supply base in South Africa, jointly funded by Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.

We will celebrate our 14th anniversary this year, while responding to the impact of exchange rate fluctuations and changes in the market environment amidst the country’s moderate economic growth.

Solving Problems through Cooperation with Local Staff from Various Countries

Located in the port city of Durban, SEWS SA manufactures automotive wiring harnesses and imports automobile-related products from Sumitomo Electric Group companies, thereby serving as a supplier for local customers.

We are making improvements in a wide variety of areas, in order not only to ensure a stable supply of high-functioning and high-quality products, but also to achieve cost competitiveness that will enable us to survive in the global market.

Since I was transferred to SEWS SA in April 2014, I have been committed to realizing the company’s growth as an entity that can contribute to customers. Although we face many challenges, we will overcome them through cooperation with local staff from a wide variety of countries. We will continue to do our best as members of the Sumitomo Electric Group.

Hello! My name is Karen Rudman. I joined the company in November 2009. As a member of the administration department, I’m responsible not only for general affairs, but also building maintenance and management, security, cleanup and hygiene management, IT network, and support for expatriates and visitors.

I always work together with those with different cultural backgrounds, making me keenly aware of the concept of unification amidst diversity. I would like to continue to do my best so that I can further contribute to SEWS SA.
