ECOMARINE™-EC electrolytic ballast water treatment system obtains IMO G9 final approval.

We developed the ECOMARINE™-EC electrolytic ballast water treatment system jointly with Hitachi Zosen Corporation and have obtained final approval (FA) under the Procedure for approval of ballast water management systems that make use of Active Substances (G9) administered by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

We have been working on developing the ECOMARINE™-EC electrolytic ballast water treatment system (rated throughput: 500m3/h) which has low environmental load, low power consumption and high performance, through the establishment of the ECOMARINE Technology Research Association in December 2012 and fully integrating our filter technology and the knowledge of electrolytic technology and ship-related fields possessed by Hitachi Zosen Corporation. Now that we have obtained the FA from IMO, we are aiming at receiving the type designation from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism in FY 2015.
